Rotary Scholarships

Rotary has a rich history of supporting students of all ages in a wide range of endeavours and specialties.

District and club grants

Clubs and Districts can create their own scholarships and fund them with district grants for any level of study, or with global grants for graduate studies in one or more of Rotary’s area of focus.

District grants can be used to sponsor secondary school, undergraduate, or graduate students studying any subject, either locally or abroad. In addition, the scholarship can cover any length of time — from a six-week language training program to a year or more of university study.

Global grants

The Rotary Foundation Global Grant offers international scholarships of $30,000 or more for career-minded graduates who share our commitment to:
•    Promoting peace
•    Fighting disease
•    Providing clean water
•    Saving mothers and children
•    Supporting education
•    Growing local economies

The scholarships, which are available to non-Rotarians sponsored by a Club or District, funds graduate-level coursework or research for one to four academic years.

Scholarships can be run with any approved university located in any country – outside of the applicant’s – where there is a host Rotary club or district.

Hundreds of peacemakers are trained through the Rotary Peace Centre Programme, which enables fellows to pursue a master's degree or professional certificate at one of Rotary's partner universities. Through academic training, study, and practice, the fellows become leaders who promote peace and aid conflict resolution in their communities and around the world.
